The Agency of Renewable Resources (FNR) is a project management agency of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). Since its foundation in {{2001}} it supports the development and dissemination of sustainable solutions for the production of renewable resources and energies in Germany. In doing so, it works closely with research institutions, companies and associations to promote innovative technologies and practices in the agricultural and energy sectors.
As one of Germany’s most important strategies for achieving its climate goals, the promotion of renewable raw materials contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The FNR supports projects for the development of biomass and bioenergy in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote the energy turnaround in Germany. In addition, the agency also promotes sustainable use of waste and side streams from agriculture, forestry and food production.
